I've been using the pcp2 pellets in my R9 .22 with good accuracy and penetration. I plink at random ranges and targets (leaves, chunks of bark) as well as pop the occasional nuisance ground squirrel around my property and have never been too happy doing that with lead pellets. I'd say give 'em a try! John

Don,

I have spoke several times with Cliff Tharpe, producer of the DVD on hunting the california ground squirrel. There are many locations where he is forced by law to use non-lead pellets. He frequently uses the Dynamic pellets and reports no adverse effects, and Cliff is a real fiend for accuracy.

Bottom line, I wouldn't worry about using the TM2 pellets in your Royale.

Hi Jock,

I recently bought a FX Royale from AoA, and love it. I'm blasting through so many JBS 18 grain pellets I'm starting to worry about all the lead I'm leaving in the embankment where I shoot. I use a trap about 20% of the time and need to increase that %, but I just love shooting other targets. I plan to pick up a tin of the TM 2 pellets to try them out but I'm wondering if shooting a pellet made out of a harder metal could hurt the guns barrel?
Any thoughts?

Best,

Don

I believe you can shoot the PPP1 from your Daisy 888 or 887.

As to whether a heavier pellet is always better, the best pellet is the one that shoots most accurately in your particular airgun. I would recommend trying some of the Daisy flat head pellets first. Unfortunately, you may have to try a variety of pellets to find the one that works best.

I would like to try shooting the Dynamic pellet in my air rifle team's Daisy 888 and 887 rifles. I like the flat head of the PPP1 (easier for scoring) but it is shown as a pistol pellet. Can I shoot the PPP1 from a rifle? Is a heavier pellet always better? What is your recommendation? We are shooting on a 10 meter indoor range.

Thanks!
