No, I didn&#039;t have to modify the receiver. The top of the receiver is plastic, and the mount for the red dot readily gripped it.

I have a question about the Gamo Compact.  I have been considering a nice indoor target pistol that will not brake the bank.   I will be using it inside to relieve an itchy trigger finger during the Winter  :).    I have been considering the Compact and i noticed your photo.   Does this pistol have a 3/8 dove tail on the top of the receiver or did you have to modify it to accept the mounts?  Also, if you don&#039;t mind...what is your overall impression of this pistol?
