The Daystate Wolverine R HP is the latest version of the Wolverine family from the famous British manufacturer. \u201cHP\u201d, of course, stands for High Power \u2013 the full-power, US specification model.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, there\u2019s been much excitement in recent times around Daystate\u2019s electronically-controlled air rifles: such as the Red Wolf<\/a> and forthcoming Delta Wolf<\/a>.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The value of the Wolverine R is that it is the company\u2019s top-end fully mechanical air rifle. There\u2019s plenty of customers out there who still want good, old-fashioned mechanical control over their airgun. This is the Daystate model for them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you would expect, the trigger is sublime and the sidelever action exquisite. The trigger is multi-adjustable, of course, to accommodate your exact requirements. Although – I have to say – every Daystate I’ve ever shot has had the trigger perfectly adjusted by the factory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manual safety is conveniently positioned at the rear of the action, immediately below your eye line for the scope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gun we’re looking-at here is the High Power model in .25 caliber. AoA tells us that it\u2019s good for around 55 Ft\/Lbs of Muzzle Energy and around 40 shots per fill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, it’s currently fitted with a larger-capacity (580 cc instead of 380 cc) HPA tank<\/a>. This is an optional upgrade from Airguns of Arizona and allows for a higher shot count, although it does make the gun a little front-heavy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no question that the Daystate Wolverine R HP is a beautiful air rifle! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one in in the stylish gray laminate stock<\/a>, but there\u2019s also a choice of solid walnut <\/a>and green \u201cForester\u201d laminate<\/a>. In every case, the stock is of the same, comfortable, thumbhole style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also visible are the twin air gauges which are an external indicator of the Huma regulator that\u2019s fitted to this gun. Incorporating a regulator was a big step in the Wolverine 2 version. That\u2019s now been combined with sidelever cocking and the new stock design to create the current \u201cR\u201d version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see, I\u2019ve mounted an Aztec Optics 5.5-25 x 50 scope<\/a> with Sportsmatch rings<\/a> . The single shot tray for some “gentle” shooting…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, the stock is just beautiful! Again, as you would expect from Daystate!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The all-up weight of this Daystate Wolverine R HP \u2013 with scope and big tank is a fairly hefty 10 Lb 10 Oz. However, it really doesn\u2019t feel that heavy when shooting, due to the balance of the design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
