What a gun!
My PCP air rifles have made me weak. I forgot about the Twang and bang of Springers. Gosh I missed this! Not all Springers are created equal.this is my first Weihrauch springer and it is absolutely incredible. I am still breaking the rifle and I’ve gone through about 100 rounds. Please note you will get dieseling! I actually saw a little flare from the breach of the rifle and it sounded like a 22. Most people would freak out but to be honest with you I loved every second of it because it reminded me of the days of breaking in my first Springers before I got spoiled by the rather tame and boring behavior of PCPs. This gun will punish you if you don’t work on your hold. He trains you to focus work on your positioning and all fundamentals. Love this gun it is very accurate when you work on your artillery hold. Hard to go back to my PCPs when I have such a masterpiece. Buttery smooth break. Beautiful stock. The sites are a little bit hard for me to see because of my crappy vision but nothing you can’t handle by using a little bit of bright colored paint. I prefer iron sights over scopes. Love this gun. If the twang in bang is not what you’re looking for and turns you off do not buy this gun. If you’re looking for a silky smooth daisy like firing cycle this gun is not for you. However if you are willing to deal with the twang and bang and willing to rekindle your rifle fundamentals then you will absolutely adore this gun. The shooting cycle is quick and kick back is straight yet brief. Was not hard for me to get a decent grouping after about an hour of training. Please note this gun will get better after breaking. I am still breaking this gun in. Make sure that you clean the barrel because you will experience dieseling. Be patient and this gun will serve you well. What a work of art!

"Try to find a HW30s used" LOL
My initial introduction to a real air rifles started out about one year ago. Other than a bit of Daisy Red Rider experience as a youngster, my experience with the modern break barrel springer was non existent. I bought two Hatsan model 95's for me and my son to plink with. I had heard of the name Weirauch in my research into spring rifles and the associated pricing which I initially concluded as to much money for an air rifle. The Hatsans are fairly cheap but they both seemed to shoot a bit erratic. This prompted me to continue my study of air rifles. I found out that the Hatsans I purchased
both had poorly finished barrel interiors.(push pellet through bore by hand test (both failed due to intermittent tight spots and loose spots throughout the bore). There are air rifle repair folks who actually re barrel the Hatsans because other than the slop in the barrels, they seem fairly solid. I am not sending out new rifles for second party repairs however legitimate the repair may be on $156.00 guns. My procrastination enabled missing the 30 day return window. Ouch! I really became interested in seeing what all the German engineering fuss was about and started studying Weihrauch extensively. If they are as good as the glowing reviews indicated, I had to try one out. Airguns of Arizona, upon processing my payment, sent me a beautiful Weihrauch HW95 Luxus. The pellet to bore test and all cosmetics on the rifle checked out great. I proceeded to put some pellets through it. It was immediately apparent that the perceived quality difference is real compared to the Hatsan model 95. Yes, the old "buy once cry once" flooded my mind. Impressive. The hook was set, I needed more of the HW sweetness. Joe W Rhea's (Cyclops videos) along with other reviews on You Tube as well as various air gun forums concerning the HW30 pushed me over the edge. I ordered another Weihrauch. This time it was indeed the HW30s standard model. I am not sure if it was boxed incorrectly, but the overall stock was as nice as and even better finished than my HW95 Luxus. The HW30s is super smooth. The HW 95 is a bit overkill for my 20/25 yard backyard "range". The HW30s fits the bill a bit better and still packs a punch on the steel at a 20 yard distance. The 30s is also has a reduced report. Both HW's are no doubt keepers. Hopefully this helps some new folks out. Save up a bit more to avoid my pitfalls especially if you know you will be serious in your springer interests. You will not regret it. 100% Satisfied.

Fantastic
I purchased the HW30 laminated back when it was available and couldn't be happier...I didn't even have to adjust the sights. I'm no expert but I was able to get a 2 inch group with open sights at 40 yards. It's easy to cock, just a little more effort than my HW50. Seems more accurate, maybe because of the lesser recoil or vibration. I highly recommend, don't waste your money on a lesser gun if you can help it.

One note though, do your homework before ordering a scope and mount. A Hawke scope may not work with a Sportsmatch mount... Mine did not. My scope was too short, I needed a 2 piece mount to use the scope.

Fantastic gun though, I highly recommend it!

HW-30S A Great Air Gun
The HW-30S is a truly great air rifle, accurate, smooth functioning and with an excellent trigger.
For those shooters who prefer an aperture sight, rather than mount a Williams 5D sight, use the Daisy Diopter, the sight with the rubber eye cup. For the few extra dollars the ease of adjusting the sight is well worth the expense. The Daisy sight will fit most other break action air rifles, I have them on six of my springers, however be aware that the height of the front sight may be critical on some rifles. The Diopter works fine on the HW-30S but is close to bottoming out on the HW-50 with very little adjustment left to lower the point of impact at ten meters.

A very happy buyer!
I have shot cheap airguns for years, but recently decided to try a good quality piece. Many people recommended the Weihrauch HW30s, so I bought one in .22 from Airguns of Arizona. I AM SO GLAD I DID! It is glass smooth to cock. The trigger is fantastic. If I miss a shot, well that's on me. The gun is a tack driver. I was concerned that the .22 would be too slow moving, but the AoA testing shows better than advertised velocity with Meisterkugeln 17.3 grain pellets. There is not one thing that is less than expected. The only downside: I'm having so much fun that I am already after my next quality gun. Maybe the Diana AM03 Stealth...

Excellent break-barrel, family-friendly
Think of it as a single stroke pneumatic shooting at 6-7 FPE.

I put a Vortek kit in mine, and it is not an improvement. It's harder to cock now, trigger's heavier and I gained half a foot-pound. Don't bother.

Take off the front sight and put on a good 9x scope, or leave it on and fit a Williams peep sight.

The gun is amazingly accurate, not hold-sensitive, and with good shot placement, (brain) you can even take squirrels out to 20 yards or so. It is easy to cock and shoot all day, and is not too much for a wife or scrawny teenager or pre-teen to shoot. I love it.

Air rifle perfection
I purchased an. HW30S from AoA and the rifle is an absolute delight to shoot. Easy and smooth to cock and the trigger is less than 2 lbs. and breaks likes an icicle straight from the factory. It's shoots Falcon 7.33gr & JSB RS Exact 7.33gr. pellets at 635 fps and groups in 1/4" at 20 yds, with the Falcons showing only a very slight advantage over the JSB's. I had some Beeman Kodiak 10.65gr. that the rifle loves too, shooting them at 580 fps and while not quite as accurate as the Falcons, they will hit a chipmunks' head with authority every time. I have run out of chipmunks as a result. Also this is a great rifle for kids as it is lightweight and if they do their part, can't miss. My grandaughters favorite rifle. Can recommend this air rifle without reservation. For plinking and short range pest control, you can do no better !!!
