Description

The latest version of Weihrauch's first PCP rifle now sports key features demanded by the US shooter. The first and most obvious is the attached moderator, which reduces the muzzle report down to a quiet "puff". The other improvement is the quick fill feature on the air cylinder as well as the built-in pressure gauge on the front of the air tube. Rather than having to remove the air tube to refill, you can insert a fill probe to the cylinder and recharge with your fill device, and the internal pressure is displayed with a color coded gauge. These improvements make the super accurate HW100 even better than previous models. Along with a match grade sporting trigger which is both predictable and crisp with 2-stage adjustments, the HW100 sports a silky-smooth side lever bolt that is both convenient and nearly effortless. The rifle is matched to a quality walnut stock that has an ambidextrous design. And it feels as good as it looks, and is comfortable for both sporting and target applications. Top it all off with the magazine fed repeating mechanism (with single shot option), and you have a fine, German-made air rifle to compete against anything in its class.

My favorite rifle
Reasons for this purchase:
- Stunning classical good looks.
- Feels great in the hands.
- Built like a tank.
- Ultra quiet.
- Very reasonably priced. Worth every penny.
- I love the trick single shot tray that swings out.
- Wide availability of parts. It's not going to be discontinued.
- Long and proven performance history.
- Large support community. Lots of information on forums and youtube.
- Lots of modification potential, if that's your interest.
- The walnut stock carbine sporter is the lightest available FAC configuration, in case you want to carry it in the field.
- The power level is correct for .22. It fires a standard 14.3 grain pellet at almost exactly 900 fps, or 26 foot pounds. Much faster and you can have problems with pellet instability.

It should be noted that this carbine is not the same as the British or German carbines, which have the shorter stock and air cylinder. This is the 'FAC' or full powered export carbine, essentially the standard rifle with a short barrel. They do this because you need the standard air cylinder to supply the more powerful FAC models. The Weihrauch site has all the specs.

I bought this as the PCP companion for my HW30 and HW95.
