Not for the faint hearted, the Model 48 RWS air rifle is impressive in both performance and appearance. Its tremendous power is generated by a robust spring piston power plant cocked by a side lever action that shoots .22 caliber pellets up to 900 feet per second. The substantial one-piece stock allows for comfortable offhand shooting and the precision rifled, fixed barrel system is loaded via the sliding breech opening. Other features of the RWS 48 include an adjustable trigger, adjustable rear sight, and automatic safety.

48 in 22 ROCKS!8
I have the RWS / Diana 52 in 22 which is the same exact rifle as the 48 except that it come with a somewhat fancier stock - the stock on the 48 is just as cool. This rifle in 22 carries a 20 foot pound punch with the CP 14.3g pellets, dome or Hollowpoints. My rifle shot 1/4 inch groups right out of the box with a 3-9x32 center point scope and before that I was able to kill an iguana at 30 yards with the first 3 shots fired using the open sights as they came from factory. The open sights are large and easy too sight in. The rifle came with a little twang from factory, but it became hardly noticeable after the first 300 shots. Break in was a breeze. Trigger is the excellent TO6 , just as good if not in my opinion better than the famous Reckord trigger of the Beeman and HWs - the safety is also a lot more user friendly. My rifle with no tuning will shoot a successive string of ten 800 FPS shots with a variance of four to five feet between shots- it shoots like clockwork.
If you want to treat yourself to an exciting rifle that will give you a ton of fun a great performance the 48 in 22 is the gun to buy. Mine is definitely not pellet fussy, shooting great from expensive to cheap pellets. It also has no issues whatsoever with being hold sensitive like break barrels tend to be in most cases. The 48 once you tame it is smooth as silk but it stings like a bee. If you have any experience with springers you will see right off the bat that this is a top gun. BTW bought my RWS / D52 from AofA the real pros when it come to airguns.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm really impressed with this gun--both in it's quality and the way you tested, packed, and shipped it.
