Description

The Western Airguns Rattler is set to make a lasting impact on the airgun market.

In response to the overwhelming success of the Rattler 357, Western Airguns is proud to introduce the Rattler 45 Long Strike. The Rattler 45 Long Strike offers a whopping 435+ ft-lbs of muzzle energy and 12 regulated target grade shots per fill from its standard 700cc carbon fiber bottle. The semi-auto action incorporates a titanium twelve-shot magazine that can accept 350 grain slugs. A full compliment of shots from the Rattler totals over 5200 ft-lbs of combined energy as fast as you can pull the trigger. Tested three-shot groups with good ammunition give 100 yard accuracy of less than a inch from the USA-made barrel. The versatility of the Long Strike is further enhanced with the easy to adjust throttle valve. This fast easy to adjust feature gives the shooter the ability to set the desired velocity for his bullet of choice. A moderator is included to reduce the report from the high powered shot.  The rifle comes standard with a picattiny bottom and side rail for bipod and accessory use. The Western Rattler 45 Long Strike is the new standard for high powered, long range, big bore air rifles.

Lovin the Long Strike
What can I say but that so far it hasn't disappointed. As You turn up the Power and Regulator the Velocity increases at a predicable rate. Be careful with the Reg as 1 click makes large changes. The 360 HAH's produce good accuracy. I have a number of my own cast and swaged bullets that shot ok at the lower velocities but as the power was turned up the accuracy just got better to the point that a 50yds a 5 shot group truly is one 1/2" hole. At 80yds it opens to 5/8". that's not center to center, its group Dia. I have just under 300 slugs through it, mostly my own making 250gr cast and 270gr swaged .452 dia. I am puzzled why there are almost no customer reviews posted anyplace I have found. I wish there were more persons talking about setups and what's working.

There are other more powerful airguns but 1 to 4 shots to a fill not for me. The long strike makes enough power and is very accurate and depending of settings 10 to 36 shots per fill.

Would I recommend to others? Hell YES.
