Nice gun after removing extra hardware
So I was very impressed with the fit and finish of the rifle when i received it, however, after only a week of ownership i was suddenly unable to cock the gun. It acted like the barrel catch wasn't engaging. I was disgusted at the thought of sending it back for repair so i removed the trigger guard and stock so i could inspect it and i found the problem. It appears that there was an extra nut laying in the same area as the trigger guard nut, the cocking lever was hitting this nut not allowing the cocking lever catch to engage. I removed the extra nut, reinstalled the trigger guard and stock using Loctite 242 on the screws, and everything was fine after that. I've been shooting the gun without any problems for several days now so I can rest easy again.

It's a pleasure to shoot but you sure can't use a rest or lead sled when sighting in but that's the case with most springers. After figuring out the best way to hold it, I'm hitting a 1 inch spinner at 40 yards with open sights...not too shabby. Going back to my issue, I'm not 100% sure i received a brand new rifle. Looking at the trigger guard and stock hardware, prior to me removing the hardware, i could see some wear on the screws like they had been taken out before. I don't see Weihrauch letting a gun leave the factory with loose parts in it but who knows...I'm just happy all is fixed now. It is a quality gun and I would buy it again.
